If They Take Care of the Flowers

If They Take Care of the Flowers

Ruhamah came to the Twelve Tribes in its beginnings in Chattanooga in the 70's. She describes her experience and how she was affected by the love and care she was shown. You can't see a man's heart, but you can see what he does and what he says. The people were so warm and friendly. "You can come for a day, or you can stay," she was told. While visiting the Yellow Deli, she visited the restroom and was touched by the care of someone who had taken care of the flowers that day, realizing the same care would come to her as well. In 1970, a man was on the beach in Carpenteria, CA and talking to the God he had heard about but did not know. "Apart from me you can do nothing" was what he heard in his heart as a response. This moment was the beginning of the Twelve Tribes, as God's love came to live in his heart. This man and his wife opened their home, and studied the Bible together. Other people joined them and didn't want to leave. Instead, they started living the life in the Scriptures. They speaking and acting into existence the love of God. From this beginning, our life has grown. The words of the prophets are being lived out. And even now, we want to say to you - "come for a day or come to stay"

The Twelve Tribes is a confederation of twelve self-governing tribes, composed of self-governing communities. We are disciples of the Son of God whose name in Hebrew is Yahshua. We follow the pattern of the early church in Acts 2:44 and 4:32, truly believing everything that is written in the Old and New Covenants of the Bible, and sharing all things in common.
